1 Tends to
deny 3 spades
South tried 2
instead of reopening opposite "declining
to support double" partner (with a double).
East could have passed that double to eventually arrive at a two trick set
(300).
What was the delayed 2N? Was 2
forcing? Wouldn't an
East 2
bid have shown a minimum with exactly two spades?
If West could bid a non forcing 2
,
wouldn't East have possibly had a singleton spade precluding such as 18 points?
Could it be a singleton spade and 15 to 17 points with clubs that had been
forcing to pass? Would that instead bid 3N over 2
?
At IMP scoring, vulnerable, West took no chances of missing game and tried
3N.
A club was led to East's
J.
Spades were started, the 2nd round won by South.
A heart was played to North's
J and East's
K.
A club was played to dummy's
K and three spades cashed,
